High-Risk Foot Podiatry

The High-Risk Foot Podiatry Service at Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) provides specialised inpatient and short-term outpatient care for patients with active foot ulcers. Our experienced podiatrists work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary foot ulcer team, which includes vascular surgeons, infectious disease specialists, diabetes educators, and wound care nurses.

The primary aim of the service is to reduce complications such as infection, hospital readmission, and amputation through timely, evidence-based intervention and coordinated care.

What we provide

  • Expert assessment and treatment of active foot ulcers
  • Advanced wound care and pressure offloading
  • Vascular and neurological screening
  • Collaborative management with the multidisciplinary foot ulcer team
  • Patient education to support ulcer healing and prevent recurrence
  • Discharge planning and referrals to tertiary hospitals or community podiatry services

Please note: Routine nail and skin care services are not provided. The service is strictly for patients with active foot ulcers.

Outpatient follow up

Outpatient follow-up is limited to patients recently discharged from Joondalup Health Campus who require continued management of an active foot ulcer.
