JHC in the community

As the largest healthcare facility in the northern suburbs and a significant employer of its residents, Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) is an integral part of the local community.

Joondalup Health Campus actively supports a number of health and community events each year and supports the local business community where possible.

JHC proudly supports the following community events:

City of Joondalup Valentine’s Concert

The City of Joondalup holds its annual Valentine's Day Concert as part of a series of free outdoor summer concerts. The concert, which attracts over 8000 local residents each year, has hosted some spectacular talent since its inception, showcasing headline acts including The Whitlams, David Campbell and Dan Sultan.

JHC has been a long standing Premier Partner of the City of Joondalup Valentine’s concert and is proud to play a role in such a cherished community event.

West Coast Institute Annual Awards Evening

Joondalup Health Campus is a proud supporter of the West Coast Institute’s Annual Awards evening. This annual event recognises and celebrates the outstanding achievements of West Coast Institute students, lecturers and support staff. In 2015, JHC proudly sponsored the Trainee of the Year Award.

Joondalup Wanneroo Relay for Life

Joondalup Health Campus became sponsors of Relay for Life, an initiative promoted by the Cancer Council of WA, in 2008. Relay for Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will be remembered, those going through cancer will be supported and that one day cancer will be eliminated.

It is an event which touches people's hearts like no other. It is a fun, outdoor, overnight fundraising event where teams of 10 -15 people take turns to walk or run relay-style around their local oval for 24 hours.

In 2015, the JHC Lifesavers will once again take to the relay track to walk in support of cancer battlers and survivors and in honour of those who have lost their fight with the disease.

HBF Run for a Reason

As one of the five Ramsay Health Care hospitals in WA represented each year at the HBF Run for a Reason, Joondalup Health Campus is proud to support this huge community event, which keeps getting bigger every year.

In May each year, scores of JHC employees embrace the opportunity to participate in the event, running or walking as part of “5 Hospitals, 1 Team”. As testament to the enthusiasm of its staff in supporting the event, Ramsay Health Care has taken out the award for the Largest Corporate Team in both 2014 and 2015.

Celebrating with our community

In June 2012, local Wanneroo pioneers joined politicians and our longest-serving staff members at the “Wanneroo Wing Dedication”, a function to formally mark the naming of L Block as the Wanneroo Wing. The Wanneroo Wing has 85 beds – the same as the original Wanneroo Hospital which opened on the site in August 1980. This special community event included speeches from Wanneroo MLA Paul Miles and Mayor of Wanneroo Tracey Roberts, along with a video presentation featuring recollections from our long-serving employees who helped establish the hospital and shape it into what it is today - as we continue towards our vision of growing with our community to provide excellent health care.
