How to refer:

  • All patients must be referred by either a general practitioner or specialist;
  • Referrals are to be addressed to:  Joondalup Health Campus Gynaecology Clinic
  • Referrals to be emailed to GynaeOutpatient.JHC@ramsayhealth.com.au or faxed to 08 9400 9955.
  • Referrals will be triaged according to urgency of need. To assist in this assessment, please include as much detail about the patient history in the referral as possible
  • Please arrange for the patient to have blood tests and if necessary, scans prior to referring.

Costs of clinic appointment:

  • Patients are charged $210 for an initial consultation and any procedure conducted at the time will attract an additional fee. A review consultation and some post-operative appointments are charged at $110. Patients with a valid Medicare card will be eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.
  • Patients residing in the City of Joondalup or City of Wanneroo who require a surgical procedure can elect to be admitted as a public patient at Joondalup Health Campus. On this basis, there will be no out of pocket expenses for any operative procedures.

What is required for appointment:

  • Patient will need to bring any relevant films or test results to their appointment
  • Patient to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to appointment time

Description:

The urgent gynaecology clinic is specifically for patients requiring immediate referral who would likely present as an emergency case within 14 days.

Who can be referred:

Patients with conditions that would constitute eligibility for urgent assessment include those with:

  • Post-menopausal bleeding.
  • Symptomatic or suspicious pelvic masses.
  • Adnexal pathology.
  • Heavy symptomatic menstrual bleeding.
  • Symptomatic uterovaginal prolapse.
  • High-risk cervical dysplasia.
  • Any other gynaecological condition assessed as urgent by the GP.

Referral Information:

  • Please clearly indicate on the referral if the patient is being referred to the public Outpatient Urgent Gynaecology Assessment Clinic and include any relevant radiology and pathology results.
  • All non-urgent patients requiring a gynaecology assessment can be referred to the clinic above. OR to
  • WA Health Central Referral System which will refer the patient to a free public outpatient clinic.
  • Referrals and imaging reports can be faxed to 08 9400 9955 or email: gynaeoutpatient.jhc@ramsayhealth.com.au
  • JHC will contact the patient to arrange an appointment after a specialist has reviewed the referral.
    • Wait time for an appointment is dependent on clinical circumstances. We try to see patients as soon as clinically indicated.

Description:

This clinic is situated separately and functions separately from the gynaecology and antenatal clinics.

It provides a specialist ultrasound service to public and private patients for all obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound. Obstetric ultrasound service includes dating, first-trimester screening, anatomy, growth scans, placental location and well-being scans. A full range of gynaecology scans is offered, including complex gynaecology and endometriosis scans.

How to refer to the ultrasound clinic:

  • Referrals can be faxed to 08 9400 9382 or via email to suite105AdminJHC@ramsayhealth.com.au.
  • Patients will be contacted with an appointment after triage of the referral.
  • If a referral is provided directly to the patient, they can call us on 08 9400 9937. The patient will be asked to email or fax the referral to us for triage before confirmation of an appointment day/time.

Billing:

  • Patients referred by private specialists and GPs will be privately billed.
