COVID Clinic now open at Joondalup

Joondalup Health Campus will open a COVID-19 clinic on site this Wednesday 25 March.

Health Minister Roger Cook made an announcement last Thursday that new clinics would be opening in Joondalup, Rockingham, Armadale, Midland, Albany and Geraldton

Deputy CEO Dr Amanda Ling said the JHC COVID-19 Clinic would be located on the ground floor, nearest to the Regent Park Road entry with parking in car park P4.

The entry point will be along the outside walkway between Specialist Medical Centre West and the back entrance to the Physiotherapy Department – see map.

People do not need to enter the hospital to gain access to the Clinic. 

Dr Ling said the Clinic will run from 8am to 8pm and would only test people who meet the current case definition criteria set by the Department of Health and updated on their website at https://healthywa.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/COVID-clinics

Currently, criteria for testing includes having  a fever and or respiratory symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough or sore throat AND documented evidence of:

• overseas travel in the last 14 days (provide boarding pass or flight booking or airline bag tag with name and date of travel) OR 
• close contact of a confirmed COVID-19 case (provide name of case)

“Following testing, people should remain isolated at home until they receive their test results from PathWest and further medical advice,” she said. “People who don’t meet the case definition (as above) will not be tested and asked to self-monitor for symptoms.”

Call out for staff

Joondalup Health Campus is also putting a call out for registered nurses and midwives, enrolled nurses and assistants in-nursing.

The hospital is also seeking senior medical practitioners – particularly ICU, emergency medicine, respiratory medicine, anaesthesia and general medicine, general practitioners and junior medical practitioners.
