Our specialists

The Oncology and Haematology Unit gives patients who reside in Perth’s northern suburbs access to treatment quickly following diagnosis and the opportunity to receive treatment close to home. There are three oncologists and two haematologists who treat patients at JHC. They are:

Throughout the course of treatment, JHC oncology patients are seen regularly by their own specialist oncologist. At these visits, the oncologist will monitor progress and assist in the management of side effects or other symptoms.

Comfort and care

Opened in 2013, the modern treatment facility provides a relaxed and comfortable environment for both patients and carers. Each of our 12 treatment bays has its own television and tea and coffee facilities are available for patients and visitors. Morning tea and a light lunch are served to patients receiving treatment.

The unit is staffed by team of experienced and dedicated nurses who deliver care to patients with kindness and empathy. Our staff are committed to looking after both the physical health and the emotional wellbeing and comfort of patients. Our team recognises that in some cases, treatment for oncology and haematology patients can be a part of a long journey.

Visitors

A carer/visitor is welcome to sit with the patient whilst they receive treatment, however due to clinical safety and infection control processes children are not permitted in the treatment area of the Oncology and Haematology Unit.

Referral process

Patients may be referred to one of our specialists at the JHC Oncology and Haematology Unit via their GP or other specialist.
