Emergency Department

The Emergency Department (ED) at Joondalup Health Campus provides a 24-hour emergency service to over 63,000 patients per year making it Perth’s busiest ED.

JHC is commencing a major redevelopment with significant expansion of inpatient services and progression to a tertiary institution over the next few years.

Upon completion of the redevelopment, the new ED will be almost two and a half times the size of the existing department.

Currently, the ED accommodates 23 patients in the main department, three resuscitation bays, and eight observation bays.  There is also a Fast Track area with three consult rooms to see patients with minor injuries.
