For Patients: Before You Arrive
Pre-admission Clinic
The hospital runs a pre-admission clinic for both public and private patients who meet specific medical criteria that warrants pre-operation assessment. This service enables patients to be assessed by nursing, medical and allied health staff prior to their admission. Patients are provided with pre-operation information and tests may be required to be taken during the assessment.
Before you arrive
Prior to admission we suggest you use the guidelines below as a handy checklist:
- Please return your completed pre-admission paperwork as soon as possible, and in any case, at least 72 hours prior to your planned hospital admission.
- You may be booked for a pre-admission clinic review if you are having major orthopaedic or urology surgery.
- During your review a doctor and nurse will interview you and conduct any necessary investigations required for surgery.
- If you are privately insured, you should contact your insurer to confirm exactly what costs will be covered while you are in hospital.
