Joondalup wanneroo relay for life
JHC has proudly supported the Joondalup Wanneroo Relay for Life since 2008. An initiative promoted by Cancer Council WA, Relay for Life raises vital funds for life-saving research and support services for cancer sufferers and their families.
JHC actively supports a number of health and community events each year and also the local business community where possible. In 2016-17 JHC proudly supported the following events:
city of Joondalup valentine’s concert
A yearly fixture on the calendar, JHC was once again a premier partner of the City of Joondalup Valentine’s Concert on Thursday 16 February 2017. This free event attracted more than 8,000 local residents who filled
the fairway at Joondalup Resort to enjoy songs from the 007 James Bond series. Accompanied by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Australian music royalty Kate Ceberano and Michael Falzon performed to great acclaim from the sold-out crowd.
Joondalup christmas lunch
In 2016 JHC once again proudly supported the Joondalup Christmas Lunch – an event which embodies Ramsay Health Care’s ‘people caring for people’ philosophy. This special community event provides a free Christmas lunch to local residents who have nowhere to go, have no family, cannot afford a meal of their own, or are lonely and isolated on Christmas Day.
Held at Joondalup’s picturesque Central Park on 25 December 2016, more than 500 people from all walks of life enjoyed a festive lunch, carols and entertainment.
city of Joondalup Kaleidoscope festival
JHC sponsored the inaugural City of Joondalup Kaleidoscope Festival from
10 – 13 November 2016. This free community event transformed the City of Joondalup into an extraordinary wonderland of illumination with light projection performances, workshops, virtual reality and more. WA’s
first festival of illumination, the event had something for all ages.
hbf run for a reason
Ramsay Health Care (RHC) sponsored the HBF Run for a Reason again this year, which saw more than 36,000 people participating in the community event on Sunday, 28 May 2017 to raise funds for Cancer Council
WA, Diabetes WA, Heart Foundation WA
and Lifeline WA. JHC was one of five sites representing RHC, which for the fourth year in a row took out the ‘largest corporate team award’. This year the RHC team had a record number of 712 participants with more than 360 JHC staff, family and friends running or walking as part of ‘5 Hospitals, 1 Team’.
