Joondalup Health Campus celebrates its 50 Plus employees with $5,000 award

Connolly resident and Joondalup Health Campus Customer Service Clerk Linda Herbert is celebrating Christmas early after winning $5,000 as part of the Ramsay Health Care National 50 Plus Program.

The National 50 Plus Program is an initiative that recognises the excellent skills and contributions employees aged 50 and over bring to the workplace.

“I am so overwhelmed to win such a fantastic award,” said Linda.

“I have worked at the Campus for 11 years now and have always felt supported but the 50 Plus Program really reinforces the respect and appreciation Joondalup has for its more mature employees.”

Originally developed in Western Australia, the success of the program resulted in it being launched on a national scale in August this year to enable all Ramsay Health Care 50 Plus employees to benefit from the program. 

“The 50 Plus Program is about addressing the changing needs and expectations of our employees to provide a working environment and culture that supports career and life goals,” said Kempton Cowan, Chief Executive Officer of Joondalup Health Campus.

“It’s about creating partnerships and developing an environment that recognises and values the contribution our 50 Plus employees make everyday to the success of our organisation.”

Program partner ME Bank presented Linda with the $5,000 cheque at a special breakfast presentation on Thursday 7 December.

“ME Bank is honoured to have partnered with Ramsay Health Care and provide this cheque as part of the national launch,” said ME Bank Business Distribution Manager Leigh Hunter.

“The 50 Plus Program is in line with our own organisational beliefs and commitment to providing employees with products and services that will assist them as they transition through their various lifestyle stages.”

Linda plans on putting the money towards an epic celebration in 2012.

“I turn 60 next year and am planning a holiday overseas. This extra $5,000 will be a great boost to ensure I celebrate my birthday in true style!”
