Joondalup Health Campus Careers Open Night a huge success
17 November 2011
More than 500 potential future employees flocked to the Joondalup Health Campus Careers Open Night to check out the various roles that will become available as the hospital expands.
Held on Tuesday 15 November, the Careers Open Night offered a unique opportunity to find out more about working at one of Australia’s fastest growing hospitals. Managers from across the hospital were available on the night to discuss the various positions available and answer any questions.
Joondalup Health Campus is expanding as part of a $393m redevelopment which is delivering extensive new facilities for public and private patients including Joondalup’s first standalone private hospital with 145 beds which is set to open in 2013. Hundreds of additional staff will be required over the next 16 months.
Hocking resident Yvette Healy said the Open Night provided a unique opportunity to get her foot in the door. “I have several friends who work for the hospital and they always comment on what a great working environment it is. The staff were really helpful and offered great advice and information which ultimately reinforced my desire to work there!”
Joondalup Health Campus Chief Executive Officer Kempton Cowan described the response from the local community as overwhelming.
“This event was designed to explore whether people from the local community are interested in working at our hospital. The response was overwhelming,” said Mr Cowan.
“We received expressions of interest from 612 people who would like to be considered for positions. We will let them know when positions become available.”
