Ramsay Health Care Retains Staff With "50+ More" Program

27 July 2011

Ramsay Health Care WA is leading the way nationally and retaining more staff in the over-50 demographic with a program tailored specifically to their needs. Entitled “50+ More”, the program will be launched at Hollywood Private Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus on 1 August.

The “50+” program was conceived in WA and, following its overwhelmingly huge success, will be relaunched nationally as “50+ More” to all Ramsay Health Care employees with more benefits.

The development of “50+ More” was based on feedback from staff regarding the first program, which showed that 99.4% of people surveyed thought the 50+ program should continue, and 72% felt more valued as an employee stating: “It makes you feel like a valuable member of staff who is appreciated for their knowledge, skills, experience and contribution to the company.”

An additional staff member who was part of the original “50+” program said: “In an age where many companies are passing older people over for younger employees, it is refreshing to be part of an amazing organisation that sees the value in tapping the experience and resources of this age group.”

Building on the success of the existing “50+” program, the updated version will give staff within this demographic increased access to national benefits as Ramsay Health Care nationally launches the program nationwide.

Rita Maguire, Human Resources Manager WA & SA, says: “The response from all WA staff within this demographic who were part of the first program was so successful that we’ve decided to make it available nationally, and with increased benefits. Staff have told us how much they value the initiative and the positive difference it’s made in their working lives.”

“50+ More” will be launched by Ramsay Health Care State Operations Manager WA & SA Kevin Cass-Ryall at both Joondalup Health Campus and Hollywood Private Hospital on Monday 1 August 2011 at the following times:
