Joondalup Health Campus welcomes high school students via Health Training Australia

Feb 09, 2018

Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) welcomed four local high school students in February 2018 to commence a school based traineeship.

The students will be employed and supported by Health Training Australia with the AMA’s training arm providing training towards a Certificate III in Health Support Services.

AMA General Manager for Education and Training Jan Norberger said the AMA’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO) provided a broad range of training services for business, the health sector and the community of Western Australia.

“As an RTO, the AMA manages and delivers training to clients in areas such as business, aged care, home care, medical reception and health support services,” he said.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Ramsay Health Care, who own and operate Joondalup Health Campus, to offer local students such a fantastic training opportunity.”

JHC Support Services Manager Calum McLeod said the students would be receiving essential practical experience to put into practice the theory they will learn at school.

“They will get experience in all aspects of support services and will be working alongside established staff from housekeeping, laundry and catering departments,” he said.

“We’re a major employer in this area and we value the relationship we have with the community – this is about nurturing the next generation and providing them with valuable skills.”
