Description:

Review of acute injuries for patients referred from the Emergency Department and After Hours GP Clinic

Who can be referred:

  • Patients who have attended the Emergency Department or After Hours GP Clinic
  • This will include Workers Compensation, MVIT and Uninsured patients
  • This service is for hospital referred outpatients only.  Unfortunately at this stage, we do not offer a service for GP’s to refer to this clinic

Services provided:

  • Patients’ are assessed by Orthopaedic Registrar and Orthopaedic Nurse
  • Orthopaedic Care
  • Casts
  • CAM Walker Boots
  • Richard Splints
  • Knee Hinge Braces

How to refer to clinic:

  • Patients must be seen in Emergency Department or After Hours GP Clinic who will in turn refer the patient to the Trauma Clinic
  • This service is for hospital referred outpatients only.  Unfortunately at this stage, we do not offer a service for GP’s to refer to this clinic

Costs of clinic appointment:

  • Public clinic
  • There may be a small fee for medical consumables
  • Patients with no valid Medicare will be charged

What to bring to appointment:

  • Patient to bring any relevant x-rays
  • Valid Medicare card
